Our game features a day and night cycle system that adds an extra layer of immersion and strategy to the gameplay. This cycle not only changes the appearance of the world but also affects gameplay, NPC activities, and player abilities.
The full day and night cycle lasts 4 real hours, allowing players to experience 6 complete cycles within a 24-hour period. Each cycle is divided into four distinct phases:
• Day: 90 minutes
• Sunset: 30 minutes
• Night: 90 minutes
• Dawn: 30 minutes
•Lighting: Sunlight provides excellent visibility, allowing players to explore and fight with ease.
•NPC Activities: Most NPCs are active, offering quests and interacting with players.
•Fauna: Predominantly daytime creatures with fewer dangerous monsters present.
– Lighting: The light begins to fade, creating a transitional environment between day and night. Shadows lengthen, and visibility starts to decrease.
– NPC Activities: Some shops begin to close, while other establishments, such as taverns, start to open.
– Fauna: A gradual change in fauna, with nocturnal creatures beginning to appear.
• Lighting: Visibility is significantly reduced. Light sources such as torches and lanterns become essential.
• NPC Activities: Most NPCs are inactive or sleeping, but some special NPCs may offer unique quests or interactions.
• Fauna: A significant increase in nocturnal and more dangerous creatures, making exploration and combat more challenging.
• Lighting: Light begins to return, bringing a new day. Visibility gradually improves.
• NPC Activities: NPCs start to wake up and resume their daily activities.
• Fauna: A gradual return of daytime creatures, with nocturnal creatures retreating to their hideouts.
During the night, visibility is reduced, making stealth more effective. Characters with night vision abilities or those who use light sources will have advantages in combat and exploration.
Some skills receive bonuses during the night, while others may be reduced during the day.
